House Full of Boys

I have two boys at home. Mine are five and two. Watching these two boys reminded me so much of my two boys at home. I felt right at home photographing them and getting most photographs of them hugging on, wrestling, and/or poking each other in some way.

With a third baby boy on the way for this beautiful family I know this home will be filled with extra noise, energy, nature indoors from playing outdoors, and even more noise.

But more than anything it will be filled with little boy hugs, cuddles, and loves which are always the best kind. But I might be a little biased.

Highfive

This family are friends of friends and we have met them several times in different gatherings our friends put together. When I got the email from her that they wanted to set up a session I was ecstatic. I'm admitting something here...

Sometimes when I meet a family that is so beautiful and so obviously in love with each other I cross my fingers that someday they will ask me to photograph their family. True story.

In this case all my finger crossing came true. They are the perfect combination of adorable, beautiful, silly, and in love. They tried to say they were awkward in front of the camera. Then in the following ten minutes I was able to capture at least 50 completely not awkward, perfectly natural photos of them. I kept taking photos for another 45 minutes just because it was so much fun.

Then if it couldn't get better, sweet Payton gave me a high five on the way out and didn't want to go home...

Perfectly Three

This couple waited patiently to grow their family and when they were given the news they would be welcoming a sweet baby girl into the world they couldn't be more thrilled. And the people around them couldn't be more thrilled either. So much so two of her best friends came together to set up three photo sessions for this new family. One to show off her growing belly she waited so long for. One to photograph the newness and happiness of meeting their daughter in the days after she was born. And last to photograph their family of three.

We had a beautiful evening. Beautiful fall colors. And mostly a beautiful family of three.

Baby Ethan {newborn}

One of the best parts of being a photographer is watching a family grown and change. To be asked to come along with a family on their most important moments is such an honor. This family I met first when their oldest son was first brought home from the hospital after a long NICU hospital stay. He was a peanut and already several weeks old. The session lasted longer than it needed because me and his Mama chatted away. She let me hold and cuddle her new baby and mold him into his photos as she watched. It is was awesome to be so trusted with the biggest part of her world. Thank you for that...

From there I have been able to photograph them as their little boy grew and they fell more and more in love with him. I knew about his little brother before it was even Facebook official. I have to admit that made me feel pretty special.

And then I was able to meet the smallest member of the Hallberg family just days after he was born. I was so excited to hear of his arrival and when I finally got the news I couldn't wait to get my car packed and head over with my camera. But the first thing I wanted to do was snuggle his new little self. Babies are the best...  He was given such an amazing family to grow and learn with. His brother and him will love and fight with each other fiercely and I can't wait to see them grow and change as brothers and as a family.
